About
A family shop, through and through.
Cook's Barbershop has been keeping Grantsville, UT, looking sharp since 1993, when father-and-son duo Morley and Paul Cook first opened the doors. After Morley's passing, Paul kept the clippers buzzing and was later joined by his two daughters, Taylor and Courtney, turning this into a full-blown family affair.
Walk into the shop, and you'll likely hear Paul in the middle of one of his legendary (and hilariously exaggerated) stories. With his playful sense of humor, he keeps everyone grinning, whether they're in the chair or just along for the ride. Taylor, Courtney, and the rest of the crew chime in, keeping the vibe lively and making everyone feel like they've stumbled into a barbershop from the good old days, where the conversation flows, the laughs are plenty, and the barbers know just about everything going on in town.
At Cook's Barbershop, you're not just getting a haircut; you're getting a dose of community, a sprinkle of nostalgia, and a whole lot of fun.

Who's behind the chair
Paul Cook
Owner / Head HonchoPaul has been a barber for 30 years, a journey that began with his dad teaching him how to cut hair and encouraging him to pursue barbering as a profession. Paul has loved every minute of his career, finding great joy in seeing young boys grow up in his chair and later bringing their own sons in for haircuts. These full-circle moments are among the many rewards that make his life rich. Paul enjoys the variety his work brings, appreciating the unique challenges of each client's hair, and has never grown tired of his craft. Speaking of craft, truth be told, he finds the barbershop an excellent place to craft and tell his tales to a captive audience. You may hear the same story twice after a while. But you might not recognize it anymore.
Outside the barbershop, Paul spends his time with cattle and horses, finding peace and connection out on the range. Riding a good horse and working alongside his kids in the open country is a cherished tradition, passed down from his dad and brothers.
Paul enjoys working on all types of haircuts and especially loves when a client is thrilled with their new look. That said, he's hoping bowl cuts don't make a comeback anytime soon! At Cook's Barbershop, Paul also offers a special tradition: a baby boy's first haircut is always free. He looks forward to welcoming new and returning customers to the shop.
Taylor Hill
BarberTaylor has been a barber for 11 years, a career she dreamed of pursuing since first grade. Even as a child, she was passionate about hairstyling, once dressing up as a hairdresser for career day. Her father, Mr. Cook, played a significant role in nurturing her passion, and she now enjoys working alongside him and her sister in their family business. For Taylor, one of the most rewarding aspects of being a barber is connecting with the community and meeting remarkable individuals who bring kindness and positivity to others.
Outside of her work, Taylor is a proud mother of five. She enjoys gardening, decorating, baking, and embracing the joys of spring and fall. While she appreciates all haircut styles, she has a particular fondness for mastering flat tops, a precise cut that highlights a barber's skill. Taylor attended Salt Lake Community College for hair school, where having her father as one of her instructors was an unforgettable part of her journey.
Taylor is nearly always wearing a smile on her face. Even when she's nursing an eyeroll from listening to one of Paul's larger-than-life stories. But Paul hasn't held that against her... yet.
Courtney Anderson
BarberCourtney Anderson has been a barber for seven years, inspired by a family tradition of hairstyling that includes her dad, sister, and grandfather. Working alongside her dad and embracing the creativity of the profession has been deeply fulfilling for her. When it comes to hairstyling, her specialty is flat tops, a challenging yet rewarding style that allows her to demonstrate her skills as a barber. Courtney particularly enjoys building connections with her community, helping clients look and feel their best, and meeting the grooming needs of the men and boys who visit her chair. Just don't look at her eyes. Courtney has been known to look so deep into a person's soul that they forget where they are or why they came there. Luckily, Paul is usually around with a joke or four to help them snap out of it.
Outside of the shop, Courtney cherishes spending time with her husband and baby boy. She is also an outdoor enthusiast who finds joy in hiking, fishing, and gardening. Being in nature is her happy place.
Cory Cook
Scheduling & AdminCory has been a proud part of the Cook's Barbershop team for years, even though she's not a barber herself. She initially joined to handle phone calls, allowing the barbers to focus on their clients without interruptions. Over time, she has developed a deep appreciation for the personal connections she's made with customers and enjoys hearing how much they value the welcoming atmosphere of the shop.
Outside of the barbershop, Cory loves spending time with her grandchildren, decorating for all occasions, walking, baking, and reading. She and her family also enjoy helping Paul with his cows, whether it's branding, castrating, gathering the herd, or ending the day with a meal and laughter out on their property. For Cory, being part of Cook's Barbershop and her family's traditions brings joy and fulfillment.
She doesn't like cameras, but we were able to snag a recent enough photo from Taylor and Courtney. Hopefully they will live to cut another head of hair!
